Professor Madya Dr. Jasni bin Sulong, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia, has established himself as a distinguished academic with a focus on Islamic studies. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Shariah from Universiti Malaya since 2006. Currently, he assumes the pivotal role of Dean of Administration at the School of Humanities, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is also a Member of the Fatwa Committee of the Pulau Pinang Mufti Department and a Member of the Technical Committee of the Shariah Law, Pulau Pinang Islamic Religious Council.

Dr. Jasni is actively engaged in significant areas of expertise and research. His main expertise and current research areas include a profound understanding of the Islamic law of Inheritance and Will as well as Islamic Administration Law in Malaysia. 

His research and writing in the field of Islamic Inheritance Law include “Al-Munasakhah Approach in the Case of the Manifold Faraid” (“Pendekatan al-Munasakhah dalam Kes Faraid Berangkai”), co-authored with Zahari Mahad Musa and Muhammad Anas Muhammad, published in 2021 by the Publisher of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia.”Standardization of Fatwas & Methods of Its Execution in the Property Transfer” (Penyeragaman Fatwa & Kaedah Pelaksanaan dalam Pindahmilik Harta) co-authored with Muhammad Fathullah Muhamad Asni, published in 2019 by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. “Faraid A – Z” written with Zahari Mahad Musa, published in 2019 by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, and “Kes-kes Faraid Khas Huraian & Pesesan” (Special Faraid Cases Description & Settlement), written with Zahari Mahad Musa, published in 2013 by USIM Publishers. “Reform in the Islamic Inheritance Administration Law” (Pembaharuan Undang-undang Pentadbiran Pusaka Islam), published in 2011 by Universiti Sains Malaysia Publishers, ” Joint Ownership of Inheritance Land: Reality, Problems and Challenges co-authored with Mohad Marbawi Taha and Mohd Nasir Ayub (2015) ) – Esteen Academic Journal. ” Fatwa concerning Qabd in Hibah and the insertion of Qabd element in states Fatwa in Malaysian, Journal of Islamic Studies, and ” Concept of A’Addah in Inheritance Transfer Management, Esteem Academic Journal and “The Implication of Religious Conversion towards Muslim Inheritance under Malaysian Law”, International Journal of Liberal Arts and Social Science.
