Tuan Haji Abdul Aziz Peru Mohamed is the former chairman of RHB Islamic Bank Berhad and RHB Insurance Berhad.
He is also the Chief Executive Officer / President of as-Salihin Trustee Berhad. Prior to that, he served more than 30 years at Maybank, one of the most innovative and successful financial institutions. He held various important positions, including the responsibility of managing all Maybank branches. His last position at Maybank Berhad was General Manager of the Consumer Banking Division. He was also the former General Manager at Ambank Berhad from 2002-2005.
He held various important positions, including the responsibility of managing all Maybank branches. He was responsible for forming the first sales group in the bank and took on many responsibilities in strategizing portfolio management related to customers, products, and sales services, which encompassed customer loans, credit and debit cards, deposits, business facility stocks/shares, Bancassurance, as well as electronic delivery channels and services.
Throughout his service in this industry, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Rules and Regulations Committee of the Association of Banks in Malaysia, and he also held several important positions, including being a Board Member of Maybank Property Trust and Maybank Trustee Berhad. He was also responsible for advancing the Bancassurance business model at Maybank since its launch in 1995 and further developed the business at Ambank. Throughout his banking career, Mr. Abdul Aziz Peru attended various training programs at Harvard Business School and training programs at Pacific Bankers in the United States.
Tuan Haji Abdul Aziz Peru Mohamed also held directorship positions at RHB Bank Berhad, RHB Investment Bank Berhad, RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd, RHB Islamic International Asset Management Berhad, PT RHB OSK Securities Indonesia, RHB Bank Cambodia Limited, and RHB Bank Lao Limited.
